I know that you don't believe me now, but your four years in high school are going to pass in a blink of an eye. Trust me, I was there, I didn't believe it either. Yet here I am, getting ready to graduate in 5 months. Enjoy it. There are so many things to do and try, if you are debating doing something, (school related that you will never get a chance to do again) such as play a sport, join the school play, or just participate in school fun days. DO IT! There is so much to do and experience, there is no way you can do it all. But why not try? Why would you rather sit at home and play video games rather than paying $5 to stand with all of your peers and support your football team on Friday night?
These are the last 4 years before you are out on your own, before your class leaves and goes their seperate ways. Enjoy the time you have together. Don't waste a second of it. Because when you are getting ready to graduate and you think of the last 4 years walking those halls, not only will you be thinking about all that you have done, you will be thinking of all the things you wanted to do, but didn't! Like I said, I know, I've been there. Play the sport you want to play, go to your homecoming dance and prom, audition for the high school play, and perform in mock rock. Don't let the fear of judgement keep you from doing and trying the things you want to. Once you walk out those doors for the last time, there is no changing things, you can't go back and do it all over no matter how badly you want to. So do it while you have the chance! Freshman year isn't like middle school anymore, I get that. But don't let the school work stress you out. No matter how badly you want to, do not give up in a class. You can do it, push through and get the grade you want. Don't slack off in math class because there is an issue at home, don't procrastinate in English because of a fight with a friend. Because when it's all over, and you get that final grade, you can't go back and change it. No matter how much you regret it. So work hard while you can. My four years in high school weren't perfect, yours won't be either. That is one thing I can promise you. Everyone has rough times in high school, a fight with a best friend, parents going through divorce, or losing a family member. No one has a perfect 4 years. There are going to be hard times, there are going to be times that you want to walk out of that school and never look back. But you won't. You can't. There are so many things to do and experience. Get out there and do it. Don't let your struggles hold you back from going out and enjoying high school with your classmates. So, go join the football team, go to the homecoming dance, stand in the student section at a basketball game, audition for the school play. Just do it, these are all things you won't have a chance to do after high school. And don't let the school work stress you out too much, and DO NOT let the word EXAMS freak you out. They are just glorified tests/quizzes, I promise! Lastly, everyone has difficulty with something in high school, whether it be with friends, family, or even school work. But when it happens to you, don't let the downs, keep you from experiencing the ups.
